Tour Overview

Have You Ever Looked a Mountain Gorilla in the Eyes?
There is a moment in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest when the undergrowth parts, the mist lifts, and you find yourself just metres away from a wild mountain gorilla one of fewer than 1,100 left on earth. No fence. No glass. Just you, the ancient forest, and a creature that shares 98% of your DNA. It is the kind of moment that stops time, catches your breath, and reminds you why you travel in the first place.
That moment is just one of ten days of pure wonder waiting for you in Uganda the Pearl of Africa. Watch the entire force of the Nile explode through a seven-metre gorge at Murchison Falls. Trek through cathedral forests in search of wild chimpanzees. Drift along the Kazinga Channel as hippos surface beside your boat. Spot lions not on the ground, but stretched lazily across the branches of ancient fig trees in Ishasha. Uganda does not do ordinary.
Your story is waiting. The only question is are you ready to live it?

Day by Day Itinerary

Your East African adventure begins the moment you land in Uganda, the Pearl of Africa. At Entebbe International Airport, your safari guide will greet you with a personalized sign. After customs and baggage claim, you’ll transfer in a comfortable safari vehicle to your pre-booked accommodation. En route, your guide will share insights into Uganda’s culture, landscapes, and wildlife. Depending on your arrival time, you can take a leisurely walk, enjoy a welcome drink, and settle in. Dinner and overnight stay mark the start of an unforgettable journey.
Meals: Dinner for early Arrivals
After an early breakfast, you depart northward for Murchison Falls National Park (MFNP) Uganda's largest and most storied national park. But before the big park, you will make a remarkable detour that very few travellers skip: a stop at the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary.

Ziwa is the only place in Uganda where you can encounter wild Southern White Rhinos on foot. Accompanied by armed rangers and expert guides, you will set out through the open savannah grasslands on a guided rhino tracking experience, getting close enough to observe these magnificent, prehistoric-looking giants in their natural habitat. It is a rare, humbling experience that never loses its magic.

After your time at Ziwa, the journey continues north through the scenic Ugandan countryside past papyrus-fringed rivers, rolling hills, and small trading towns until you reach the gates of Murchison Falls National Park. You arrive in time for a hot dinner and a well-earned overnight rest.

✦ Highlight: White rhinos can weigh over 2,000 kg yet tracking them on foot is one of Africa's most exhilarating wildlife encounters.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Rise with the sun for a thrilling early morning game drive across the vast northern bank of the park, where the grasslands are alive with wildlife activity. Murchison Falls is home to the Big Four (lion, elephant, buffalo, and leopard) as well as enormous herds of Uganda kob, Jackson's hartebeest, waterbuck, giraffe, and much more. Your experienced guide will navigate the tracks with a skilled eye, pausing at every sighting to bring the wildlife story to life.

After lunch and a midday rest at the lodge, the afternoon brings an entirely different kind of adventure: a boat cruise along the Victoria Nile. Glide slowly upstream towards the base of Murchison Falls one of the world's most powerful waterfalls, where the entire force of the Nile squeezes through a seven-metre gorge and plunges 43 metres below. Along the riverbanks, you will encounter enormous pods of hippos, Nile crocodiles basking in the sun, elephants drinking at the water's edge, and a spectacular array of water birds including the iconic African fish eagle and the rare shoebill stork.

✦ Wildlife Spotlight: The shoebill stork is one of Africa's most prehistoric-looking birds Murchison Falls is one of the best places in the world to spot one.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner
Bid farewell to Murchison Falls and begin the scenic southward journey toward Kibale Forest National Park Uganda's primate capital. But first, the morning offers a special treat: a short guided walk to the top of Murchison Falls, where the sheer power of the Nile becomes visceral and awe-inspiring. Standing at the crest of the falls, you watch the river thunder and churn through the narrow gorge below a perspective entirely different from the boat cruise and one that leaves a lasting impression.

The drive to Kibale passes through the fertile landscapes of western Uganda, with views of tea estates, crater lakes, and the distant Rwenzori Mountains. You are expected to arrive at your lodge in the late afternoon, with just enough time to check in, freshen up, and enjoy the sounds of the forest at dusk the perfect prelude to tomorrow's chimpanzee adventure.

✦ Optional (Extra Cost): Feeling adventurous? Ask your guide about the 'Top of the World' hike a challenging trek offering spectacular panoramic views of the entire national park and the Nile Valley.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner
Today is one of the most extraordinary days of your safari. The morning begins with a pre-dawn briefing at the Kanyanchu Visitor Centre before setting out into the ancient mahogany and fig tree forests of Kibale in search of our closest living relatives wild chimpanzees. Uganda hosts the largest population of chimpanzees on the continent, and Kibale is the finest place to find them. Your guide and tracker will follow fresh signs hoots, knuckle prints, half-eaten fruit until the moment you break through the undergrowth and come face to face with a troop of chimps swinging overhead, grooming, feeding, and living their remarkable lives.

After a lunch break, the afternoon offers a completely different kind of immersion: the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary. This community-run reserve on the edge of the park is a birdwatcher's dream and primate haven, home to red colobus monkeys, black-and-white colobus, grey-cheeked mangabeys, and over 200 species of birds weaving through the papyrus and forest canopy.

As the day draws to a close, you transfer south to Queen Elizabeth National Park, arriving in time for dinner and an overnight stay at your lodge.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Queen Elizabeth National Park is one of Uganda's most biodiverse ecosystems — a mosaic of open savannah, crater lakes, dense forests, and the legendary Kazinga Channel connecting Lake George and Lake Edward. The morning begins with an expansive game drive across the Kasenyi Plains, famous for large lion prides, enormous herds of buffalo, elephant families, and the elegant Uganda kob antelope performing their extraordinary territorial displays.

The crown jewel of the afternoon is an unforgettable boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel — widely regarded as one of the best in Africa for sheer concentration of wildlife. The channel banks host what is believed to be one of the highest densities of hippopotamuses in the world, alongside massive Nile crocodiles, hundreds of buffalo wading at the water's edge, and an astonishing variety of water birds including pink-backed pelicans, African spoonbills, pied kingfishers, and malachite kingfishers flashing like living jewels in the afternoon light.
Meals: breakfast, lunch and Dinner
Today's drive south through the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park is a safari highlight in its own right. Ishasha is one of only two places in the world where lions have developed the extraordinary habit of climbing trees a behavioral quirk unique to this population and the Maasai Mara. As you drive through the open fig tree woodland, your guide will scan the branches above, and if fortune favours you, you may spot a pride lounging lazily in the canopy, surveying their kingdom from above.

After Ishasha, the road begins to climb into the highlands of southwest Uganda rolling hills blanketed in tea, eucalyptus, and banana groves, with spectacular views at every turn. The journey culminates in your arrival at the edge of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most biologically rich ecosystems on the planet. As you settle in at your lodge, the ancient forest breathes its cool, misty air around you the mountain gorillas are close.

✦ Wildlife Rarity: Tree-climbing lions are found in only two places in the world Ishasha and Kenya's Maasai Mara. This is one of Africa's most unique sightings.
Meals: breakfast, lunch and Dinner
This is the day you have been waiting for. After a hearty early breakfast, you attend a briefing at the park headquarters before being allocated to a gorilla family group and setting out with your ranger guides into the dense, mist-wrapped forest. Gorilla tracking in Bwindi is a genuinely life-changing experience physically demanding at times as you push through tangled undergrowth and steep terrain, but utterly, completely worth every step.

When you finally encounter your gorilla family a silverback male at rest, youngsters tumbling and playing, mothers cradling infants time seems to stop. You have one precious hour in their presence, and it is often described by travelers as the single most profound wildlife experience of their lives. These are wild mountain gorillas one of fewer than 1,100 remaining in existence and the depth of connection felt in those 60 minutes is indescribable.

After descending from the forest, the afternoon brings a gentle reward: a transfer to the beautiful Lake Bunyonyi the 'Place of Many Little Birds.' This tranquil, island-dotted lake sits at 1,962 meters above sea level and offers complete serenity. Canoe gently across its glassy surface, explore the surrounding hills, or simply sit and absorb the extraordinary peace of the place.

✦ Conservation Impact: Uganda's gorilla permit fees directly fund conservation of the mountain gorilla a species that has grown from ~600 individuals to over 1,100 thanks in large part to ecotourism.
Meals: breakfast, lunch and Dinner
Leaving the highlands behind, you transfer east through the fertile rolling landscapes of southwestern Uganda toward Lake Mburo National Park Uganda's closest national park to Kampala and the only park in the country home to impala and zebra. The drive itself is scenic and rewarding, passing through vibrant market towns and pastoral farmland.

You arrive at Lake Mburo in the late afternoon, with just enough time to freshen up before heading straight back out for an evening game drive. Sunset game drives in Lake Mburo are magical the golden light turns the acacia woodland into a living painting, and the park comes alive with topi, eland, buffalo, zebra, warthog, and the occasional leopard emerging from the undergrowth as the air cools. The hippo calls echoing across the lake add the perfect soundtrack to a golden African evening.

✦ Unique Species: Lake Mburo is the only national park in Uganda where you can see impala and Burchell's zebra two species absent from all other Ugandan parks.
Meals: breakfast, lunch and Dinner
Your final morning in the African bush is a gentle but memorable one. After breakfast, you set out on a guided walking safari in Lake Mburo one of the safest parks in Uganda for walks due to the absence of elephants and lions. On foot, the bush reveals itself differently: you notice the intricate detail of spider webs threaded between acacia branches, the tiny dung beetles rolling their extraordinary loads, the distant call of a go-away bird, and the vast, unhurried rhythm of the wild world.

Walking in silence beside your ranger, you may encounter buffalo, zebra, impala, eland, and the occasional monitor lizard before the track opens onto the edge of Lake Mburo itself a perfect place to pause, breathe it all in, and hold the memory.

After a final lunch at the lodge, your driver will transfer you back to Entebbe in good time to catch your international departure flight. The journey takes you through Kampala's northern suburbs and along the shores of Lake Victoria, offering one last view of the landscapes that have framed ten extraordinary days. Uganda does not let you leave unchanged.

✦ Until Next Time: Uganda the Pearl of Africa has a way of calling its visitors back. We hope this is not your last journey here.
