Detailed Itinerary: 8 Days Uganda Safari
Your 8 Days Uganda Safari begins with pickup from Entebbe or Kampala by your professional safari guide. After a short briefing, you start the journey north toward Murchison Falls National Park, Uganda’s largest national park and one of the best places for wildlife viewing, Nile scenery and classic savannah experiences.
The drive gives you a beautiful introduction to Uganda’s countryside, passing local towns, farms and roadside markets. Depending on timing, you may have lunch en route before continuing to the park. On arrival, you check in at your lodge and relax after the drive as you prepare for the next day’s wildlife adventure.
After an early breakfast, you head out for a morning game drive in Murchison Falls National Park. The park is home to elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, antelopes, warthogs, lions and many bird species. Your guide will take you through the best wildlife viewing tracks as you search for animals across the savannah plains.
In the afternoon, you enjoy a Nile boat cruise toward the base of Murchison Falls. This boat safari offers excellent chances to see hippos, crocodiles, elephants, buffaloes and water birds along the riverbanks. The cruise also gives you beautiful views of the Nile as it flows toward the powerful falls.
After breakfast, you leave Murchison Falls National Park and begin the journey toward Kibale Forest National Park, Uganda’s famous primate destination. The drive takes you through changing landscapes, rural communities, tea plantations and beautiful western Uganda scenery.
You will have lunch en route before continuing to the Kibale area. On arrival, you check in at your midrange lodge and spend the evening relaxing in preparation for the next day’s chimpanzee trekking experience.
After breakfast, you report to Kibale Forest for a chimpanzee trekking briefing. You then enter the forest with ranger guides in search of chimpanzees. Kibale is one of the best places in Africa for chimpanzee trekking, and the forest is also home to other primates, birds and rich tropical vegetation.
After the chimpanzee experience, you return for lunch before transferring to Queen Elizabeth National Park. The drive offers beautiful views of crater lakes, farmlands and the Rwenzori Mountain region. On arrival, you check in at your lodge and relax for the evening.
After an early breakfast, you go for a morning game drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park. The park is known for elephants, buffaloes, lions, antelopes, warthogs and many bird species. Your guide will explore the best wildlife areas depending on the day’s conditions and animal movements.

After an early breakfast, you transfer to the park headquarters for your gorilla trekking briefing. The trek can take a few hours depending on where the gorillas are located, but the moment spent with them is one of the most powerful wildlife experiences in Africa.
After gorilla trekking, you return from the forest and meet your guide. Later, you transfer to Lake Bunyonyi, one of Uganda’s most scenic and peaceful lake destinations. The evening is spent relaxing by the lake, enjoying views of terraced hills, calm waters and small islands.
